Last week I wrote in a SayAnythingBlog post about an impending threat to U.S. sovereignty posed by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities which was to be voted on in the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
On Thursday of last week, the committee did vote 13-6 in favor of the
CRPD and has sent it to the floor for a full Senate vote. Three
Republicans joined ten Democrats in lending their endorsement to this
treaty — Sens. John Barrasso (Wy.), Richard Lugar (Ind.), Johnny Isakson
(Ga.). Thanks to these Republicans we are now in a full court press to
stop what a Washington Times headline describes as “Liberals Intent on Imposing Backdoor Globalism” given to an article written by Senators James Inhofe (R-OK) and Jim
DeMint (R-SC) who both serve on the Senate Committee on Foreign
